WWET

CLUB

Whale watching trip. Glacier Spirit is taking off to find some whales.

Orca Whales enjoy the water and weather.

Victoria, BC Canada trip is in May. We are touring the town with Talley-Ho Tours.

What Club?

Western Washington Educational Tours Club.

What do you do?

Take Saturday field trips periodically throughout the year. Last year we went to the following: Whale Watching, Mt. St. Helens, Pacific Science Center and Experience Music Project (EMP), Portland's Lloyd Center and Saturday Market, and Victoria, BC, Canada.

Who can join?

Any student. Each student must sign a code of conduct and medical form. You must stay in good standing behaviorally on each trip or you will not be allowed on future trips. Only all year honor level one students can go on the last trip to Canada.

Do I need to go on each trip?

No. Only the trips you would like IF you are one of the first 45-50 students to sign up. We only take one bus each trip.

Do these trips cost money?

Yes. The cost includes entrance fees, gas money, and bus driver cost. The price is figured and divided by a certain number of students and this becomes the cost per student. It is the student's responsibility to make sure that all forms and money are turned in by the appropriate time. NOTE: ONCE A STUDENT HAS SIGNED UP AND PAID FOR A TRIP, THERE WILL BE NO REFUNDS UNLESS THE TRIP IS FILLED UP AND ANOTHER STUDENT PAYS AND TAKES THAT SPOT. We do have scholarships.

Who is the advisor?

Mrs. Laura Carle in room 134 and Ms. Smith in room 113.

Do you need chaperons?

Yes. Each trip we need about 8 chaperons to help supervise and to walk around with a group of about 6 students. IMPORTANT: Chaperons need to be willing to take charge of groups and not allow students to wander off. Yes as adults we also want to enjoy the trips, but our first priority is to supervise the students, not do our own shopping!!! Also, many of these trips involve being on your feet most the day and walking. You also will be riding a bus with 50 students at times.

Where do you get forms and turn in forms and money?

You can pick up forms from either Mrs. Carle or Ms. Smith. Please turn in forms to Mrs. Carle in room 134. Watch and listen for hallway signs and school announcements about the different trips. Remember, there is room for only 45-50 students and some trips fill up quickly!!!
