Washington DC Trip

June 2009

Students from our first DC trip look at the Vietnam Veterans Memorial Wall.

Cost: about $1,619

 

How many students can go? 50 students and adults. We already have students with their deposits in. First come, first served.

Monuments and Memorials: Washington Monument; Jefferson, Lincoln, Vietnam Veterans, Korean War, and Franklin D. Roosevelt Memorials

US Holocaust and Smithsonian Museums

Arlington National Cemetary and Tomb of Unkown Soldier

Capitol Building and White House

Bureau of Engraving and Printing

National Cathedral and Zoo

Ford's Theatre

Mount Vernon- home of George Washington

Williamsburg and Jamestown

Spy Museum

Can I still join? Yes!! Our next meeting will be Sept. 12, 2006 at 7 pm in my classroom - 134 - to plan fund raising. The informational meeting for the school will be after the open house next Fall.

 

Fund raising? We will have fund raisers during the school year like car washes, raffles, auctions, etc.

Korean Memorial. These statues have amazing expressions and the wall in the background has faces of people who have fought in the different armed forces.

The following table is from 2005, but you get an idea of what will be coming for information and activity. We will be going with the company WorldStrides in 2009.
