Mark
Engelhart
I
was born and raised in Puyallup, Washington. I graduated from Rogers High
School in 1991 and from Central Washington University in 1996 with a Bachelor's
Degree in Health Education and a Minor in Physical Education. I have one younger
brother who also graduated from Central Washington University and is now works
for the Washington State Department of Revenue. My parents still live in South
Hill (Puyallup). My father retired from a custom cabinet company (Rainier
Woodworking) where he has worked for over 30 years. My mother works
as the Secretary at All Saint's School in the Puyallup Valley. My Wife Kimberly
works at Twin Harbor's Eye Center here in Aberdeen. In my non-teaching time
I enjoy being outdoors, doing recreational things like to going camping, fishing,
hiking, sight seeing, etc. I especially like lounging around and watching
television, movies and of course watching sports.
My
wife and I celebrated the birth of our first child
Austin
Alan Engelhart on December 19, 2003.
Although Austin was born nearly 4 months (16 weeks) premature he did remarkably
well during his 4 month stay at Tacoma General's Neonatal Intensive Care Unit
(N.I.C.U.). He overcame many obstacles and showed tremendous will to live.
One week before he was expected to come home he underwent a routine surgical
procedure and for unknown reasons had complications following the procedure
and passed away on April 16, 2004. Austin touched many lives during his short
time with us, and we will always treasure the time we had to spend with him.
We recently celebrated
the birth of our second child, Kiersten
Taylor Engelhart on March 11, 2006. Kiersten was born about 5 weeks
premature and is doing very well. She is currently being taken care of at
Tacoma General Hospital (ICN). We have been reunited with several nurses'
and doctors' that once took care of our son Austin. We expect Kiersten to
be home real soon, probably within a few weeks.
